Your food deserves to look as good in images as it does in real life.

My work is rooted in “mise en place” philosophy, meaning everything is thoughtfully prepared before the first frame is captured.

From lighting and composition to styling and strategy, every element is intentional.

The result is brand-aligned imagery that translates flavor, texture, and craftsmanship into photographs that make people pause, crave, and act.

A Mise en Place Approach

A Mise En Place Approach

From Kitchen to Camera

Hi, I’m Mary, a former chef turned food photographer.

I began my career in fine dining kitchens before ever stepping behind a camera. That foundation shapes everything about how I photograph food today.

I understand how a dish is built, what the chef intended when it was plated, and which details matter most. I also understand how differently a camera sees compared to the human eye. Lighting, angles, and composition must work harder to communicate texture, warmth, freshness, and depth.

My role is to bridge that gap with technical precision, protecting the integrity of your work while elevating it visually.
Based in Whitefish, Montana, serving the Pacific Northwest and clients across North America through in-person, remote, and virtual commercial photography.

The Advantage of a Chef-Trained Eye

With the work ethic of a chef as my foundation and training as a food photographer, I bring a thoughtful and detail-driven approach to every project.

With me, you’re collaborating with someone who understands work flow, timing, technical skills and the pride behind every detail.

What that means for you:
A chef’s eye that understands the plate before the photo.
Plating and placement guidance designed specifically for the lens.

Intentional lighting for consistency across menus, websites, and campaigns.

Built-in food styling expertise rooted in culinary training.
Calm, organized production that respects resturant and workplace flow.

"With this being my first photoshoot with food I didn't know exactly what direction I really wanted to go with it. Mary has amazing communication and helped walk us through our visions and the best way to accomplish our goals. She was always available to answer any questions we had in a prompt fashion.

When it came to the actual photoshoot, her keen eye for details were spectacular and the final product was even better than we could've imagined. We will be working with Mary again in the near future!"
